Saturday in the Park

Dylan and I went to Central Park today
to take some pics.

This woman was checking everyone out through her frame.

There are a lot of benches.
We happened upon these two:

Bethesda Fountain

Strawberry Fields

The Smoke Monster from Lost showed up:

Law and Order does a lot of filming in Central Park:

Dylan spent a lot of time climbing on a HUGE rock

Dylan took some fantastic pictures.
He's an excellent photographer - better than I am.
*I just looked at his pics. I'll post some later.
They are terrific!

Moving On

Well, the biggest event of the year
that my office handles has come and gone.

The Fall Fair.

I survived.

Had the day off yesterday.
Manicure.
Massage.
Nice dinner.
Head cold.

Up next: Yearbook!

The NOW CROWD.

So, as I stated in my last post,
I was feeling a little (a lot) overwhelmed.
New job, so much to do, learning on the spot,
very busy time at work, plus other things
I am responsible for such as the yearbook
and picture day, which had to happen
in the midst of it all.
Now add to that the NOW CROWD.
These are the people who come in to
my office and ask for things NOW.
Can you do this NOW?
Can you get this for me NOW?
I need this NOW!
Now.
NOW!
NOW!!!!!
I do my best to accommodate the NOW CROWD,
but it was so hectic this past week that I came up
with this:

This is me at age 6.
I blew it up and printed it out AND laminated it.
When I am swamped and just can't take on
another thing at the moment and a member
of the NOW CROWD walks in I will hold
this sucker up in front of my face.
DON'T EVEN THINK OF ASKING!

Update On My Poor Baby

Saw a pediatric nephrologist.
He's fine.
He has a little thing that happens when he gets a virus.
He just has to wash his hands often and
get enough sleep and he'll probably
just outgrow this.

Good News.

My Poor Baby

So, Dylan got sick on Friday night.
He came home from a school overnight trip
with a fever and well, how do I put this...
his urine was dark and cloudy.
NOT good.
Our pediatrician said go to the hospital.

He was not happy he had to wear a DRESS.

Even though we were seen right away, we had to wait
from time to time.

They took a sonogram of his kidneys and bladder because
his urine looked like this:

We had to wait some more but Dylan came prepared.

Then the fever came back and he was not happy that
I tried to take a picture. He felt pretty crummy.
We were in the emergency room for six hours.

So, more trips to the doctor this weekend, today and tomorrow.
He's feeling better but we need to find out what's what.

Dylan's Graduation Party

I know it's the beginning of a new school year,
but I never posted pics of Dylan's graduation party.
He had a pretty good run at his elementary school,
so we decided to throw him a little party.
It was held at our golf course, right on
Long Island Sound, The weather was perfect!!

We gave the kids GIANT beach towels.
I wish I had a better picture, I tied each towel with
beautiful ribbon. That's an ugly picture, hmppph.

Here are the boys.

Dylan invited about 40 friends.
Here he is with his girlfriend Hannah. How cute are they??!!

This is Julia.
We love Julia.

I think kids in mustaches are funny.

Some kids got creative with their mustaches.

Dylan HAD to have a Fudgie The Whale cake.
Fudgie is rather small so we had a few.

I think he had a pretty good time.

Yeah, I Did That.

...because chances are,
you're NOT going to look like a
glamor queen while white water rafting.....
I have decided to post these pics of us
white water rafting on the Hudson River
last June.

Yeah, I'm the gorgeous one in the front,
the one who looks like she's bald.
I know I put my hair on that day.
I'm not sure what happened to it.
That's Dylan behind me.
That's his girlfriend behind him.

It was a dam release day and level 3-4 rapids.

Scary but a lot of fun.

These pics were taken about an hour before
I fell out.

Take a good look, because you will
NEVER SEE ME IN A WET SUIT AGAIN!

Books

Love to read, but don't always have time.
Isn't that a sad sentence.
Quite often, when I'm reading a book I love
I will stay up until 2am reading.
Can't do that when I'm working.

So, this summer I decided to catch up.

These are the books I read:

Testimony and Prep are about boarding schools.
Prep was actually required reading for work.
Enjoyed both, but Testimony is sad.

Sarah's Key - read it in one day. Great!

Let The Great World Spin - like it very much, but not finished yet.
Took a break to read The Hunger Games.
Heard it was great, picked it up to take a look
and couldn't put it down.
Ran to Barnes and Noble the next day to pick up
the second and third books.
I'm still not finished with Mockingjay.
I do that, when I'm reading a book I love and
I don't want it to end...I tend to draw it out.

Oh, and Friday Night Knitting Club.....
Hate it.
Am I missing something here???
BORING!!!
Tell me people, does it get better???
Should I stick with it????
Blech.

My New Baby!

My flower:

Dylan likes the grass:

Even a flower tissue box:

I just love my new car soooo much.
I like to open the sunroof and windows,
play cool music and drive real slow....
so I can enjoy it.
-drives Dylan crazy, HA!
