It's My Own Fault

Santa brought Dylan a Webkin. What is a Webkin you ask? Well, it's stuffed animal that has a social life on the internet. These toys come with registration codes. When entered into the Webkin web site, they come alive and become their own on-line game.
I now have to "fight" to get on my computer. Dylan has a computer in his room, but no internet.
Hmmmmmm, I'm thinking.....

(for me!)

Hello Mojo!

It's baaaaaaack.
Yup, my mojo is back. I started this layout last night and couldn't wait to get up to finish it. It's an assignment for WorldWin Papers with vellum. The pic is of my parents.

Oops, had to remove the pic. It's for CHA.

I LOVE WORLDWIN CARDSTOCK. Great paper!
Well, I'm off to start my next assignment!

Long Weekend

Paul is off until Tuesday so he decided to tackle a big project. He's painting our bedroom and we're putting in a new carpet. As of right now,the room is empty and he's off to The Guy Store (Home Depot) for some paint.
I'll keep you posted, lol.

I never posted about Christmas. It was enjoyable if I don't count the terrific cold I had. Here is Dylan's first look at his presents. Please notice how they match THE CHAIR.(please don't notice the towels on the chair that don't match at all)

Pee Wee Herman is a big hit these days.

Here he is opening his favorite gift (which you can't see because I was too lazy to get up), the Lego train set.

He plays with that train set for hours. Great gift! Yeah Santa!

The Mac gods are not happy with me......

Ok, so we've all put various things through the wash by accident.
If you were to ask me, my list would be like anyone else's:
-tissues
-money
-red lipstick
-the kitchen phone (I kid you not)
Well, now I can add a new item....

Dylan's iPod.
I am sick over this.
I was just trying to do a quick wash last night. Did I think to check the pockets? Actually I did but thought, "I'm in a hurry, and what's one tissue (kitchen phone) going to do, big deal.
Ugh, I should have checked.
It was in his Nike jacket pocket. The jacket wasn't even in the laundry, I just grabbed it, thought it could use a wash.
Ugh.
I told Dylan about it. He just gave me a blank stare. Our plan is to see if it will work when it dries out. If not.......mommy is in trouble.

On a happy note....I "heart" WorldWin Papers!
I was just asked to join their design team and was told to expect 3 boxes.
Got the first one today.
Ever wonder what 18 pounds of paper looks like?
Well, here you go.....

Their paper is gorgeous! I love the Double Mates, the cardstock is so great.
I cannot wait to start playing!!

Getting Old

I'm getting old.
Guess what I bought today.
Reading Glasses.

I've been doing that thing where I keep blinking to "clear" my eyes so I can see better.
Never works.
Paul suggested I pick up a pair of glasses at CVS.
I actually like these, they're brown and pink!

I am very trendy.

On another note, I made a 6x6 album for a friend and FORGOT to take pics of it.
Hate when I do that.
Oh, and I'm still stuffy.

Blah, Blah, Blah - Achoo!

I am usually up at 5am. Jump in the shower, coffee, news, computer.
However, today I woke up with a head full of.......snot. I can say that, I'm
the mother of a 10 year old boy, snot is a big topic in our house...along
with any and all bathroom practices, but I digress.
So, I woke up feeling crummy and pushed that darn snooze button a
few times and now at 11:00 my curls are STILL wet. Ugh. I'm trying to
get moving but my head feels like it weighs about 900lbs. I'm also
trying to work on a little album but each time I look down at my work
I have to blow my nose, lol.

What does today hold for us besides a whole box of tissues?
Well, Dylan and I were invited to make cookies at a friend's house at 1pm, then
violin tonight at 6. We'll probably have dinner at Moes - it's become our Friday "thing".

I feel crummy, blech.

Thursday musings

Today is a great day. Getting a lot done. I'm working on an album for a client. It's the first heavy duty scrapping I've done in a few months. I'm loving it! I've got Harry Connick Jr. singing Christmas carolls in the background. It would be better if he was here, but we couldn't work that out.

Dylan has a friend over.
Meet Bobby.

Bobby was Dylan's first friend at his new school this year. They get along great. When they have playdates they last all day and we usually go from one house to another, sometimes ending up with a sleep-over. And no, his teeth aren't usually blue, he was eating a lollipop.

I have a couple of favorite things I'd like to share with you. First of all....
my DANSKOS!!

These are the best shoes ever! I "won" a black pair on ebay, brand new in the box. I instantly fell in love with them and didn't want to take them off -ever. Now, since brown is the new black and I'm all about brown, you know I needed another pair in ....yes, brown. I couldn't stop thinking about them. I searched high and low on ebay but they only had used and who wants used shoes, blech. So I caved and picked up a pair downtown. I'm wearing them now. Love 'em. They're oiled leather. When they get a scratch, you just rub it away! How great is that?? They should make more things like that. Cars for instance. So what if the shopping cart smashed into the car, just rub that scratch away!

THE clock.

I have decided that after 7 years of living here, that I should start decorating. You see, I have what is known as "decoraphobia" - fear of making a mistake decorating so you do nothing at all. I've sought help with my phobia and now I'm going nuts - remember THE chair?? Well.....now it's THE clock. I love it.
Also an ebay purchase by the way.

On a sad note....my wreath has died.

Yes, I know it was already dead, but now it's just dry, brown and smelly and you want to know why? Well, it's the rotation of the earth thank you very much. Or rather, the earth's position these days. I hung the wreath on the door and the sun just cooked the darn thing. If I didn't take it down I'm sure it would have burst into flames. Funny, I don't remember this happening every Christmas, but then again, I don't remember much.

Enjoying My Life

I must say, I am really enjoying the Christmas season this year. It's the first time in a long time. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays but I've always felt so rushed and harried. This year, however, I'm ahead of the game. I did 95% of my shopping on-line and almost everything is wrapped and under the tree. I had all my teacher gifts wrapped 2 days before we gave them out...and I liked them! That is HUGE for me. (I gave them informals - thank you Dad. They were a big hit) Anyway, I think the fact that I have this job made me plan ahead and make sure I got things done due to my lack of "free time". Now that everything is finished, I can relax and enjoy vacation....and do laundry.

THE Chair

This is my chair.
I love my chair.
Love it, love it, love it.
It was a beat up old arm chair from my parent's house.(it was in the basement, not in the living room, lol) I saved it and planned to fix it up. Look at it now!!
The seat cushion is tiny red and white checks - it doesn't read well in the pic.
Please notice that all my wrapping paper is red and white so it matches THE chair.

The mess.

My work area was so neat after Thanksgiving, but I turned it into my wrapping area and it really got away from me. I have to clean it up today because I have a project to do for Paul and a small album to complete for a client.
Wish me luck, ugh.

Christmas #1

We celebrated Christmas with my family yesterday. It was a fun time. My three year old niece and nephew are so much fun to have around and they LOVE Dylan. We did the whole gift thing, we got some fab flannel sheets from Garnett Hill - love them.

Two of my nieces, Gracie and Hayley

My All-American son

All of us, except Susan who is taking the pic.

VACATION STARTED!!
Whoo hoo! We get almost 2 1/2 weeks off!
Dylan and I had lunch with Aunt Addie today, haven't seen her in a long time. She's 80 and has always been in great shape, but today, for the first time, she looked old. It was kind of sad.
Afterwards we went to Lord and Taylor to return my new Lucky bag that Jen got me. I had it for 3 days and the strap broke. I was so angry. I wanted a new one but they didn't have another one, so they're going to fix this one for free. Can't wait to get it back.

I created a Slide Show! Check it out!

I'm Blogging

Yes, I've joined the world of bloggers. I've thought about it for awhile, but when I saw that my friend Milissa had a blog, I knew it was time.
I can't promise you I'll have anything interesting to say, let's see what happens.
