Well, I was scared..........

So Dylan and I watched a movie yesterday.

Now this film scared the bejesus out of me when I was younger.
It was made in 1982 so I couldn't have been more
than 16 (yeah, do the math) when it came out.
I suggested we watch it early in the day in case he was
freaked out by it and wouldn't be able to sleep.
Well, was I wrong.
Not only was he NOT freaked out, he was laughing.
There would be some special effects and he'd turn and
look at me with raised eyebrows like, "are you kidding me?".

The part where the mom is running down the hallway at the end
still gets me, you know, when the hallway gets longer.
OK, Dylan thought that was cool, but when she opened the
kids bedroom and was lifted of her feet by the posessed
closet door - he lost it. He was hysterical - laughing, that is.

Oh well.

I guess kids these days are just too used to the amazing special effects they can do now. I was scared, too! I will never watch that movie again!

It takes a LOT to scare kids these days. Although I have to admit that Jaws is pretty cheesy now...

This movie gave me horrific nightmares as a kid. Still gives me the heebie jeebies to this day. Glad to hear Dylan is much braver than I am.

I was 16 too! I LEFT the theater during that movie...I thought it was incredibly scary! Yeah, my kids don't think it's scary either. I don't get it.
