and my boss said I had to see the doctor.
I called the doc's office, told them what boss said,
they asked me where I worked. When I said "a school"
they took me right away. Pretty responsible and cool,
wouldn't you say?
Anyway, got some antibiotics and just as the doc
was about to leave I said............
"Would you put me on a diet?"
There.
I said it out loud.
My doctor, whom I love, sat down and we talked.
He said, "No, I won't put you on a diet but I will help
you create some new habits. I'll help you as much as you want."
Will you slap food out of my hand doc?
-no, I didn't say that.
So, we talked. I know all the right things to do.
I just choose not to do them.
Doc went over some things for me to do and
in 2 months, I'm going back for a physical
and to get
WEIGHED.
He said, if I want, I can come in every week to get weighed
and talk to him.
Love this man.
So, this is week 2.
Week 1 was a piece of cake, oh, bad analogy.
I have no trouble at work.
I seem to have trouble on the weekends.
And Halloween, well, it's over.
Bring on Thanksgiving. Ugh.
Nah - I can do it.
As for the title of this post, I'm going
back to who I used to be, just older and wiser.
Oh, and check out these shoes I got to
wear with my new short skirts:

I used to wear stuff like this, heels, skirts.
I'm on my way back.

:) Saying those words are very very hard, so kudos to you. Congrats on taking care of yourself!
I finally reached that point too- I have faced most of my demons, but I haven't tackled that one. I joined Weight Watchers 6 weeks ago and have already lost 11.6 pounds. I needed someone to teach me the stuff I already knew but ignored. It works. I have a long way to go, but will get there.
You can do it!
I agree - like most addictions (which food is for most of us) - it's hard to say out loud - HELP! Big congrats to you for asking your doctor for help. That's the best way to go about getting healthy and keeping it off. Diets only work so long - hence why the first three letters of the word start with DIE. LOL -- good for you for being motivated and having doctor monitoring. I've been on WW for going on 6 years and LOVE it. To me the counting points is no worse than counting calories and I can still eat out (just in moderation). I wish you the best of luck and will be on the sidelines cheering you on! Now go get your sass on in those sexy new shoes and skirts! ;)
I hope you stick with it! changing your habits is so hard but so worth it. AND not buying it to begin with so you are tempted makes it easier, too. Wishing you all luck! it feels so good once you start, too.
and those shoes? love them! i see that skirt, too! gorgeous~
Good luck to you on your diet. I started walking on the treadmill last week (hate it) but it's a start. Sounds like you've got a great Dr. to help you through it! YOU CAN DO IT!!
GREAT shoes!!
Cute shoes. Cute post. And good for you!
you were ALWAYS gorgeous
I hear you. I started last March making gradual changes that I could live with and keep living with.
And like you I started overhauling my wardrobe. Being around college students who look cool in whatever they wear will do that to you.
Good luck! Halloween was AWFUL for me! For some reason, the harder things got at work & at home, the more I felt entitled to a piece of candy or two...UGH!
Man!!! I want me some shoes like that. Suhweet.
Good luck with your new habits. I'm feelin' ya, sista.
