My Very Own "What Not To Wear" Day

So, recently I have become obsessed with
What Not To Wear on TLC.

I DVR every episode and usually fast forward
to the mannequins and the shopping.
I'm not so bad off that I would be a candidate
for the show, but I've learned some valuable
things from Stacy and Clinton.

Well, I caught one episode with a "real" woman.
By "real", I mean she was not a size 2.
She was a size 14-16.

-Now for all you old boyfriends of mine who
read this blog faithfully.....I hate to break it
to you, but I am no longer a size 2.
Ok, ok, I was NEVER a size 2.-

Anyway, on the show, this "real" woman went
to a store called Lee Lees Valise.
I checked it out on line. It's for women, sizes 10-28.
Yes, I fall in there somewhere.
And the store is in Brooklyn.

Well, guess where I went yesterday........
BROOKLYN!
Perfect day!
No traffic!
Parking one block away!

The owner Lisa is amazing.
She treated me to my very own What Not To Wear afternoon.
She spent hours with me, creating outfits, introducing me to things I NEVER
would have looked at, like belts and teal.
(I never wear blue and I don't own a belt!).
I HAD THE BEST TIME!!!

So here is what I got:
Black jersey knit sleeveless dress.
No, that isn't me. The pic is from her web site.

This in brown and teal to wear with the black dress.

A belt - to give me a waist. I have no waist. I am a rectangle.

Hello??!! Love this!

More Love!

Teal.
I have to get up the guts to wear this.
Apparently, I look good in blue. Never knew it.

I did not actually bring all these goodies home with me.
I have some, the rest are on my Wish List.
I have to let the credit card cool off before I
bring the rest of the stuff home.

I also just picked up 3 pairs of slacks at
Nordstrom and these shoes, which I can wear
with my slacks and the dresses I just got.
(Mine are patent, not silk like the pic)

I CANNOT wait to wear all my new stuff and I
CANNOT wait to get back to Lee Lees Valise.
My new favorite store!!!

Wow! That is SO AWESOME! And I LOVE the clothes you got and admired - I only wish you posted pics of YOU in them - you'll be a knockout for sure! Esp in that teal outfit - you should post a pic of yourself so everyone can tell you how fantastic you look so you'll have the confidence to wear it and OWN IT while you're wearing it! :-D Thanks for sharing your fun experience!

I love that show, mostly because I know nothing about clothes and I was born without the shopping and shoe genes. I love it even more when they have real women! I wish I was closer to Brooklyn! The clothes are gorgeous and how cool to get the one on one attention like that!

Sounds like fun! I like that third one! And I don't have a wast either. No wait... No. No. I don't have a waist. That's why I wore men's jeans before they gave us low rise in women's jeans. :-)
