Fascinating

Just finished reading

-by the way, I hate the cover, it doesn't do the book justice.

This is probably the 5th book I've read by Naomi Ragen.
She writes novels about Hasidic Jews.
We're talking seriously religious Jews.
I find that life fascinating!
Seriously!
The culture, the rules, the dress!
These novels tell great stories while explaining this
mysterious lifestyle.
I find it fascinating that the Hasidim have been able
to live their lives according to their beliefs, - which many
would call backward and archaic - they live like this in
modern day NY!
I was driving through Brooklyn last week and passed through
Williamsburg. There were the men with their giant hats

Women completely covered and usually pushing strollers with
a trail of kids following them

You have to give them a lot of credit - to be living
like this today. To be able to follow their beliefs with all
the "trappings" of modern day.
I find it FASCINATING.

I'll have to look this book up. The lifestyle of this sect of Jews kind of reminds me of the Amish here in the midwest. Very different but I respect their way of life. TFS!

This one sounds really good. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion of The 19th Wife. I read it not long ago and loved it!

Cutting for Stone is one of my all time favorites!! I hope you're enjoying it. It's such a beautiful story!
