....add to the list.....

Ok, we've all put things through the wash
that we wish we hadn't, and I'm not talking about
the occasional tissue, or dollar bill.
I started out with a red lipstick, which I did
not discover until I started folding the clothes,
Crimson Red, baked right in to everything.

I then graduated to the kitchen phone.
Yes, you read correctly - the kitchen phone.
I was carrying the portable phone around in
the laundry basket waiting for a call.
Apparently I forgot and as I dumped the clothes
into the wash, the phone went with them.
Didn't realize it until the load was finished.
Yeah, that baby was fried.

Earlier this year I sent Dylan's iPod through
the wash. That one wasn't my fault. He left
it in the pocket of his jeans. The good news is
that it worked perfectly after it dried out.

Well, today I get to add to the list.
I'm trying to catch up on laundry.
I just went to throw the wet load into the dryer and was
looking for the dryer sheets, I have a brand new box.
I know they were here.
Hmmmm.
Whatever.
I open the washer and start pulling the clothes out and with
them come dozens of drier sheets.
Yup, the ENTIRE BOX including THE BOX went in the wash.
And you know what....I can't find the box.
I think it disintegrated.
I HOPE it disintegrated.

Your clothing must be INCREDIBLY static free! Or soft. Or whatever it is those dryer sheets are supposed to do...I don't actually buy those things, so I don't know...

There was a HUGE lump in one of my son's pockets today I found only AFTER the pants came out of the dryer. I decided I didn't really want to know. :-0

Glad the ipod dried out okay. I still have a little bit of hope for my daughter's cell phone that she dropped into a glass of ice cubes. It hasn't stopped vibrating for two days now. :-( :-( :-(

I can't count the number of times I've done the same thing -- crayons, gum, money, etc. But you totally beat me on washing electronic devices. Glad the ipod still works!

You should be featured in an iPod ad - kind of like the old Timex ads (takes a lickin'). Oops - did I just date myself???

I am not sure which is worse ... the phone or the dryer sheets?! So did you rewash the load?

Hilarious!!!!

I have washed and wash on a regular basis.....

ROCKS
(my kids favorite pocket filler....sometimes big, but mostly lots of little tiny ones!!)

PENS/PENCILS (think red lipstick, but in a lovely shade of inky blue or red)

MONEY (coin and paper)

COMPUTER ZIP DRIVE (Yep, the 11 year old is a computer whiz and always has the stuff in his clothes)

GAMEBOY GAMES (wow....if I had a dollar for every time I've pulled these out of the wash! anyway, they always still work!)

SCREWDRIVERS (with the boys and a hubby...ya never can tell what's in there!)

Lucky for me....no phone!!! Sorry that happened to you, Kerry!!!

They must be the softest clothes ever!

I agree - somehow you should be able to get something out of iPod for letting them know how durable those are!

Oh yeah, I wash consistently wash rocks and gameboy games. What I want to know is, why do the gameboy games always still work while my daughter's cell phone (which she didn't even submerge, but just dropped into a cup of ice cubes) bit the dust?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
