I don't like this war as much as the next person, but what do you think would honestly happen if we brought our troops home now? As long as there are terrorists out there who want to destroy us for no other reason then that they think it's their religious duty, then unfortunately, for our safety, war is necessary.
Maybe not the whole reason, we are there also to help IRAQ to establish a government. But it is part of the reason. Truth is, it would be a huge mistake to pull our troops out now.
I respect the fact that a lot of people wish we weren't at war. Myself included. But I think too many people have forgotten what these terrorists can and will do to us. You have to remember that we were not in IRAQ when they attacked us on 9/11. And if we were to pull out now it will only make them think that we are giving up and give them an uninterrupted chance to plan another attack.
exactly ... well said pinktomato .... I support the troops too... but how do you tell an 11 year old (I'm currently working on his father's memorial album) that his father was killed because Iraq needed help with democracy?

Cris, we're not there because of terrorists.

There are lots of arguments for and against our involvement. I'm with Cris on this one. My dad was career Air Force, and I support our troops.
