Had a headache for 12 hours yesterday.
Yes, I have prescriptions.
The newest....Fioricet.
Fioricet is a barbiturate.
BARBITURATE!
(that's a sedative. Highly addictive.)
I'm allowed 4 per day.
Yesterday I took 2.
Nothing.
NOTHING!
Head pounding.
Of course I'm afraid to take more.
I'm sure if I do I'll end up in my own episode of Intervention.
Head still pounding.
I took another.
NOTHING.
These freakin' drugs don't even work.
Aaahhh, so THAT'S how they get you.
So, head still pounding, I go to bed.
Wake up two hours later, intense pain.
Severe migraine in progress.
Nausea, light - evil.
What to do.
The stupid drugs aren't working.
Time to take matters into my own hands.
I took 3 Advil.
That's all, just 3 Advil and you know what?
Headache gone.
Buh-bye.

Those wacky pharmaceutical companies. Now you know you can start with the Advil and go from there.
I hate migraines!! Makes me want to eat my own head...wink-wink. I think next time you get a mirgraine skip the heavy stuff and go straight for the OTC stuff.
And 4 Advil (200mg each) is what the "prescription" strength is. (800mg of Ibuprofen)
And my husband swears by Excederine Migraine. He says it works better than his prescription.
Here's what's super scary....my 9 year old was diagnosed w/ migraines 2 years ago at age 7. And guess what his prescription is for: Fioricet...same as you.
