Facebook

I was so against it.
Everyone at work was talking about it.
I couldn't understand why anyone would
want to be on it.
Who cares?
I thought it was so silly.
I was above all that.

Yeah, well..........not really.

I'm on Facebook.
...and this is the first Paul is hearing about it.

I used to think, "why would I want to get in
touch with all these people from my past?".
If I really liked them wouldn't I have stayed in
touch with them in the first place?

Well, I was wrong.

Since being on Facebook, I've found:
-my very best friend from high school. We lost touch
during college, but it's so great to chat with her again.
-an old boyfriend, who seems to have grown up a lot
and seems very happy with his life, I'm happy for him.
-one of my very best friends who I had kept in touch
with but we drifted. Michael is so great, I'm so glad we
reconnected. He's been posting some hideous
pics of me from the 80's. The only person laughing
harder than me has been Dylan.
-and lots of other college friends who are scattered
all over the country. I love hearing about their lives.

So, yes, I'm a Facebook Freak.
Wanna "friend" me?
Just type in:

I was the same as you! I joined for my brother, and then I would get requests. It just took one request from someone I was really excited to hear from and I was hooked!

The other day I realized an old co-worked (from my very first job ever when I was 16) who I had an ENORMOUS crush on is gay. I realized this when I saw a picture of him and his boyfriend. You'd think the in-depth conversations about our favorite musicals and baking would have tipped me off years ago, but alas my gaydar is unreliable and awful.

I joined not long ago and found a lot of people I lost over the years and my many moves. It has been wonderful and actually offered a lot of closure for me. I recently created a monster by getting my husband on there too. He is a total addict. I will send you a friend request:)

Yeah, facebook is...well, strange and neat at the same time. I got contacted by my high school boyfriend and a former friend who I thought hated me for life both on the same day - that was so weird!

I am on it... although I must say that I am not all that fascinated with Facebook as others. I did find some long lost friends though.... so I guess it really does have a purpose.

Off to look you up, friend.
