cool it was that a kid has his own "real" cartoon.

Ok, this was amazing.

I remember when Marianne Walczak got the
Thriller album. We listened to it over
and over in her dining room - that's
where her family kept their turntable.
We danced all over the house.

Then he started getting weird.
I was into A Flock of Seagulls and Squeeze.
Forgot all about him.
Some years later I was at an airport
during a layover. I remember watching
something pretty amazing on a TV.
It was Black or White.
Amazing video.
How cool was that morphing at the end??!!
Wow.
Michael Jackson.
Wow.

Fast forward.
Dylan is little.
We're on line at the grocery store.
He sees this pic on a tabloid:

He asks:
"Why is that lady hanging her baby out the window?"
Yeah.
He was weird. Really weird.
But you cannot deny that he was a
musical genius.
I think I'll go play
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
and dance around the house.

I am saddened for his children, family and those close to him. But I find it amazing that the media that spent the last 10-15 years crucifying this man at every turn is now spending hours discussing how great he is/was.
I never "got" him, just wasn't my thing, and I am kind of amazed at the whole circus!
I was shocked when I first heard! I thought it was a hoax to build up for his latest tour but how sad that he really died?! Loved his older work--who doesn't love Thriller??
You are right on.
He did get strange.
There is no denying that he was very talented though. I loved listening to him growing up.
I find the media coverage odd too...for the last few years it has been he's a freak...now he is amazing! Come on...
I had totally forgotten about that window picture. Strange, strange stuff.
