Kidney Update

I've gotten quite a few emails asking for an update
on Dylan and his kidney situation.

Remember when his urine looked like this?

And he went for a biopsy and looked like this?

Well, he's been diagnosed with kidney disease.
There is NO DAMAGE, which is GREAT!!
He's on blood pressure meds which happen to be
great for the kidneys - who knew?
Next up, he'll start on steroids for 6 months.
All this is to help his kidneys filter correctly
and reduce the amount of blood and protein leaking out.
Other than the kidney stuff, he's totally healthy.
He had no restrictions at all.

And he can continue to imitate vegetables when
we go to the store.
He's found his calling, don't you think?

Well...I don't know anything about kidney disease at all, at all, at all. But I'm really glad to hear that there's no damage and that they've at least got it figured out. Do they know much about how he got it or how long he has to stay on the medication or anything? That is SUCH a good natured boy you have there! Wishing him an easy recovery full of produce imitations!

I'm glad to hear (and see) that Dylan is doing okay. How scary! He appears to be a young man with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. I hope all continues to go well for Dylan and you!

Glad he is on the mend. Does he get his sense of humor from mama?

HI Jill,
No, they don't know how he got it. We don't have any history of kidney problems, and as for the meds....we just have to wait and see how he does on them
