The Passage or How I Was Duped Into Reading an 800 Page Vampire Lit Book

Just finished reading

It wasn't bad.
I was really into it until I came across the
VAMPIRES.
I swear, when I read the synopsis
NO WHERE
did it mention
VAMPIRES!
NO WHERE.
Because if it had, I would not have committed
to this 800 page book.
I am not a Vampire Lit chick.
(ok, I read the Twilight series, but
let's not get into that).

So, this book was good.
First part, went quickly but once
I got to the vampires, it slowed down,
but the last 1/2 of the book was much better.
However...
I HATED THE ENDING.
Apparently there is a SECOND book
coming out next year.

I have decided that I will not commit
to a series unless I am late to the party
and the entire series is published and
ready for me to zoom through.

I will not wait.

That is how I read the Hunger Games Trilogy...
oh, and the Twilight books, but again, let's not
get into that.

I don't mind waiting on a GOOD series particularly if I can read the first two or three back to back but when it comes to movies with sequels, I will wait until they are all out (Just starting to watch all of the Harry Potters now!) I can't stand the waiting. Good fluffy fun series is Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. Very fast reading and I think there are 15 of them now! :)

Oh that sounds like when I read whatever that Stephen King book was and I thought I was going to read about scary ghosts and it turned out to be aliens. I was so disappointed. The only series thing my kids & I have done like that was the Harry Potter. Couldn't really be helped. But for other series, more or less the latest & greatest takes so long to come out that we already forgot about that series.
