I've read 5 books.
Not bad, huh?
First up:

This is a book about a woman's descent
into Alzheimer's, written by her son.
He obviously loved his mother very much,
but he's not a very good writer.
Very easy read, sad.
Next up:

My first Anna Quindlen book.
I won't spoil it for you, but there is
a lot of tragedy.
Excellent read.
Continuing on my tragedy trek:

A Columbine-like tragedy.
Very good.
What's this???
Even more tragedy??

Not the best, predictable, but not the worst.
I just finished:

It's about a woman who has amnesia and
each morning she wakes up and has no idea
who she is. She learns about her life each day
but once she falls asleep, it's gone.
This is not a comedy like Groundhog day or
50 First Dates, this is a Suspense Novel.
Couldn't put it down.
Excellent ending.
So, what I've discovered about myself
is that I really like tragic suspense novels!
I should probably lighten up a little and
read some summer beach books.
I have read 28 books this year.
56% of my goal which is 50 books for the year.
I'm going to make it!

You would think since I work in a place that was part bookstore I would read more. I envy you your readung time. Of course, I am the same way you are when it comes to music.
Oh WOW!!!!! Congrats on getting so far!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure I'd be clinically depressed if I read 10 books in five days. I LOVE to read, but it can get kind of isolating for me if I overindulge. :-)
I think I've loved/hated the Anna Q. Can't remember which all I've read, but I remember one with an abandoned baby or something. Maybe the guy that finds her gets all attached and then has to give her up or something? It was something depressing I think.
I read my first Jodi Picoult back in maybe April or May, recommended by my then 15 year old. It was really, really good except for the ending. None of it was incredibly believable, but it was interesting and well done. But then the ending was totally unbelievable and I felt like my emotions were being manipulated on purpose. Other than that I really did like it though. I think it was called "My Sister's Keeper"?
That last one sounds good! I'm going to need a new book soon - maybe I should try it.
Wow! You are coasting right along. You'll meet your goal in no time! These all sound good. Thanks for the suggestions.
I've read several of these, too. Every Last One was so darn sad but I ended up liking it. Jodi Picoult is a favorite of mine because her stories are so interesting and her writing is beautiful. I recently read Sing you Home and couldn't put it down. It came with a CD of hauntingly beautiful songs. I've been thinking of downloading Before I Go to Sleep and, now, I'm really going to.
(Oh, BTW, I'm a curly head, too!)
