Ok, let's have a look at the last 24 hours of my life, shall we?
I have been coughing for, oh, let's say months and months.
My mother swears it's been 3 years.
Well, it was roughly this time yesterday that I was coughing
a little more than usual and wet my pants.
Look, after you have a baby, it's par for the course;
you laugh, cry, cough, you run the chance of wetting your pants.
Anyway, I didn't feel great, but just thought I was tired.
Went home, made choc chip cookies for Dylan's class.
Had ONE cookie.
ONE.
20 minutes later I'm coughing like I never coughed before.
Couldn't stop.
Even threw up.
Wheezing in and out.
Couldn't get a full breath.
Worrying, having trouble breathing, should we go to the hospital?
Am I having an allergic reaction to ONE chocolate cookie?
Lay down, try to calm down, and sleep.
Coughing has stopped, but still can't get a good breath.
Start to worry....a lot.
Can't sleep, and now my brain starts playing tricks on me
Starts convincing me that I'll die in my sleep from not breathing.
(seriously, this now constitutes a panic attack)
Crying - always good for trying to get a good breath.
Took a Xanax.
Finally fall asleep on the couch.
Call MDs office at 6am, need appt ASAP,
Said I may have had an allergic reaction or asthma attack.
Leave for work.....
Neighbor is behind me on the road, beeping.
I'm like, WTF??
I'm tired and now I'm annoyed.
I pull over
He pulls up.
"You have a flat tire."
SHIT!
Resist having a tantrum in front of my child.
Drive to service station.
Guess what - both tires on passenger side are low, one being flat.
Great.
Did I mention that Paul hit a major pothole?
I'm guessing this is from that.
So, fill up with air, good to go, will get it fixed tomorrow.
MD calls - appt at 11:30.
No, I didn't have an allergic reaction.
I have bronchial pneumonia.
Get that.
Bronchial pneumonia.
I said, "but you didn't take an xray."
She said, "but I can hear it. Go home and go to bed."
Whatever.
So I leave with 5 - count 'em- 5 prescriptions.
2 inhalers
Z-pac
nose spray
hydrocodone (the only one I'm excited about!)
Yeah,
So that's been my day.
How is yours going?

Sure hope all that medication kicks in fast. I know the pain.
It is no fun.
Feel better soon!
Oh my that is scary.
I do the same as you. I wake up with a sore stomach (I have ulcerative colitis) and I figure I have stomach cancer. I have a twinge in my chest, I am having a heart attack. Seriously if something like this happens I will just convince myself that I am overeacting.
Oh ya do some Kegel exercises.
Hope your feeling better soon
Oh WOW! That's just awful! I hope you feel better soon!! {{HUGS}}
Wow, that is a day! Rest, blog and feel better, we will keep you company!
Ugh. Hope you feel lots and lots better soon!
Oh yeah...I was agreeing that panic attack & and asthma both sounded like good candidates until you said pneumonia. Yeah. That will do it.
Here's to a speedy recovery!
Egads! That's not fair...having all that happen all at the same time! I'm glad to hear it wasn't an allergic reaction. Having to not eat cookies would be awful! Hope the meds are doing the trick and you're well on the way to being healthy again :)
hope you are feeling better! That is a lot to be going thru!
