Yeah, the straw that broke it......
two boys in my group.
*for those of you who are not regulars on my blog,
the group I am referring to is not the boy band
I belong to, but the group of 32 little darlings
I am responsible for at day camp.*
Yeah, so two "adorable" 9 year olds sent me
over the edge. I'd spoken to both of them roughly
8 times combined, and one is FRESH so his
reprimands count as double in my book
Well, at the end of the day they were at it again.
I "escorted" them into the hallway, sat them down
and let them have it.
"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! DO NOT TOUCH EACH OTHER
DO NOT GO NEAR EACH OTHER, DO NOT LOOK AT
ONE ANOTHER FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER.
ENOUGH!!!!
GOT IT????????"
I sent them back into our homeroom.
I noticed that there were two other group leaders
watching my explosion.
For a second, I wondered...hmmmmm......
Then the cheering started.

When we were kids that was a good thing.. Now you will get a ltter from the parents saying "how dare you yell at my angel"
My 9-year-old son has a friend who used to be completely wild. There was at least one b'day party where I had to take him aside and say, "calm down or I'm calling your folks." It worked. We can have him over to play any time now, and he behaves quite reasonably. Hope you have as much luck with your two little "angels," and don't get any backlash from having given them a talking to.
That "my child can do no wrong" mentality is part of the problem with kids today (gosh I sound old)and really bothers me. Good for you for giving it to them. Hopefully you won't get any more trouble from those two boys and hopefully not from the parents either. :P
LOL hugs!! I'm feeling similar stressors from my own kids because of summer break!
Can you give Tommy lessons on how to use that voice? He's had it with his kids too.
Too bad you're so far away...I'd hire you to talk to Bailey. LOL
YAY!!!!! I would have done the same thing... I applaud you girl!!
you go girl!
Woo Hoo... you go girl... rock on .. and you tell them ! It's about time someone sucks it up and tells these kids how to act!!!
BTW... your tagged again.
Here by way of Curly Glamour Girlie...and have to say CONGRATS! I'm also a teacher and FINALLY took a summer off from teaching. I think I would have stapled those kids to some wall and left them hanging for someone to find later in the day.
Good for you!
I love it when those work!!!!!!!! Especially "Do not look at each other". :-) :-) :-)
